Saggy upper eyelid skin and wrinkled, puffy lower eyelids can develop quickly or over time. At some point, make-up or skin care products are no longer enough and an eyelid lift may be necessary to keep people from constantly telling you that you look tired.

What does an eyelid lift treat?

Eyelid lift surgery is a simple, but powerful procedure. For both the upper and lower eyelids, the eyelid lift procedure may involve removal of excess skin from the eyelid, removal puffy fat pads around the eye and repair of sagging tissue and for a more taut appearance.

How is an eyelid lift performed?

In planning surgery, we tailor each procedure with respect to your individual concerns and desired results. Additionally, subtle differences in the facial structures of a woman must be considered to achieve an attractive feminine result. An eyelid lift typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. Upper eyelid lift surgery can be performed as an office based procedure with local anesthetic or, if preferred, in a setting using twilight or general anesthesia. Lower eyelid lift surgery is often more complex and is done in a setting using twilight or general anesthesia.

What to expect after an eyelid lift

Recovery from eyelid surgery is quick and the eyelid lift scars hide easily in the natural creases of the eye. The eyelid lift stitches are removed after just a few days. Following an eyelid lift, most women return to work and social activities in about a week. Other than a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance there are few, if any, indications to others that you have had cosmetic surgery.

Can other female face surgery procedures be done at the same time?

An eyelid lift for women can be done alone or in conjunction with other female plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation procedures such as a facelift, browlift, laser and skin resurfacing.
