Eliminating extra skin from your arms means no more hiding in baggy, long sleeve shirts as your clothes will fit better and the results of exercise and your hard work will be more apparent.
Do I Need a Male Arm Lift?
After weight loss many men are left with unsightly, loose-hanging skin on the upper arms. Exercise and a continued healthy diet will build the underlying muscle, but due to loss of elasticity, will do little, if anything, to tighten the skin. A male arm lift- also known as a brachioplasty- restores natural arm contour and sculpts the arms by removing excess skin. Whether the upper arm lift procedure is done alone or as the grand finale to your major weight loss efforts, contoured arms can provide a significant boost in confidence and motivation for continued success.
Where is the Scar From Arm Skin Removal After a Male Arm Lift Surgery?
There are two options for removing extra skin from the arms. One option places the scar along the back of the arm. The second option places the scar hidden on the inside of the arm, along the groove between your biceps and triceps muscle. Many factors may influence scar placement however, the best option for you is largely based on a combination of your anatomy and personal preference. During your consultation we will discuss your exercise and weight loss history, current condition and ultimate goals to determine the best course of action.
How is a Male Arm Lift Performed?
Male arm lift surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under mild general anesthesia, generally lasting 1.5-2 hours. To achieve the most defined look to the arms, we always perform high-definition male Liposculpting of the surrounding musculature as a compliment the skin excision. Following arm skin removal, compression sleeves are worn over the arms for several weeks to protect the incisions and minimize swelling while allowing a rapid return to basic activities. Initial mobility of the arms will be slow and somewhat limited though most patients are fully mobile in a few days. You may return to in-person work with light duty in about 1 week, but will need to refrain from exercise and strenuous activities for 6 weeks. Your procedure will provide immediate and permanent results that continue to improve throughout recovery.
Can Other Procedures Be Done at the Same Time as a Male Arm Lift?
The male arm lift procedure can be performed alone, but is often combined with other male chest and body procedures including male liposuction, gynecomastia excision, male tummy tuck and all other after weight loss procedures.
SCULPT Men’s Center specializes in male plastic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic procedures for men.
