Abdominoplasty in Frisco, TX

How to Sculpt a Better Belly | Abdominoplasty at SCULPT

Lost a lot of weight for your health? Congratulations, you rock star.
Had a baby? Welcome to Momhood, where heroes live.
Blowing out enough birthday candles to light up a small city? You are a legend!

All of these bring about wonderful results, from better health to a baby’s laughter to celebrating generations of love. However, they also have a cost on your belly.

From stretched and separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) to an abundance of sagging, drooping skin, your tummy pays a price for these changes.

At Sculpt Aesthetics Center, Dr. Beck’s procedures for abdominoplasty in Frisco, TX, can address both the excess skin and the loss of muscle tone. Request an appointment to talk about your “gut feelings,” and let’s make a plan to build a better belly.

What is a tummy tuck?

A tummy tuck, technically called an abdominoplasty, involves at least 4 basic steps:

  1. Making a precise incision across the lower abdomen.
  2. Lifting the skin and separating it from underlying tissue.
  3. Removing the extra skin.
  4. Repositioning muscles and ligaments for improved support and appearance.

The procedure can include liposuction if your abdomen still has stubborn fat deposits, even after large weight loss. Once our skilled surgeon, Dr. Beck, finishes the abdominoplasty, he precisely places stitches to minimize scarring, and you can usually go home the same day.

It’s important that you work with an expert who understands how to place the incisions to reduce appearance of them once healing is complete.

Male vs. Female Expectations

Male patients often use a tummy tuck to take those two 3-packs that line their vertical abdominal ridge, and bring them back together for a more masculine v-shape and 6-pack.

Female patients also tighten the vertical ridge for better definition. However, they want to also use the tummy tuck to highlight their hips, waist, and hourglass figure.

What about the belly button?

Don’t worry—you get to keep your belly button, even with 360 abdominoplasty (aka a belt lipectomy). But an abdominoplasty does have another bonus: You can make your belly button look like you want.

Maybe you want that innie to be more outie, or vice versa. Maybe it has stretched into an oval and you want it back to a circle. Dr. Beck can reshape your belly button to meet your goals.

Types of Abdominoplasty

In Frisco, Dallas, and throughout the Metroplex, patients come to SCULPT because of Dr. Beck’s expertise customizing tummy tucks.

Though our tummy tuck will be 100% personalized for your needs, the procedure generally falls into 6 different types.

  • Full/Standard Abdominoplasty: Dr. Beck removes unwanted skin and fat between the pubic hair and belly button and tightens the underlying abdominal muscles.
  • Reverse Abdominoplasty (Reverse Tummy Tuck): Similar to a full tummy tuck, except the focus covers the upper abdomen, above the belly button.
  • Mini Abdominoplasty (Partial Tummy Tuck): This procedure addresses excess skin and fat below the belly button without relocating the navel.
  • Extended Abdominoplasty (High Lateral Tension Tummy Tuck). This more extensive procedure removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen, and potentially the flanks or thighs, while tightening abdominal wall muscles.
  • Fleur-de-lis Abdominoplasty: Dr. Beck removes skin and fat from the abdomen and flanks, often resulting in an hourglass shape.
  • 360 Tummy Tuck (Circumferential Tummy Tuck) This comprehensive body contouring treatment removes excess skin and fat around the entire midsection, including the flanks, hips, and lower back.

During your consultation, Dr. Beck examines your treatment area, talks about your medical history, and discusses recommendations based on which procedure can most safely and effectively create the results you want. Check out our abdominoplasty before and after pictures for real-world examples.
