Male Chin Implant Surgery

Outpatient chin augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia to allow for efficiency and patient comfort. The chin implant is placed through a small incision hidden in the natural crease under the chin. The chin implant sits flush along the existing chin bone, and beneath the surrounding muscles. The chin implant is secured to the underlying bone to prevent any movement and to allow an earlier return to normal activity. Results will be immediately apparent with final contour evident once all swelling resolves.

The incision needed to place a chin implant is small and well hidden in a natural crease beneath the chin. This access site heals quickly and even in the early stages can only be seen with the head tilted backwards. Once the initial stitches are removed and scabbing has resolved, the incision can be covered with concealer make-up for further camouflage, if desired.

A chin augmentation for men can be done alone, but is often combined with other male plastic surgery procedures such as a neck lift, buccal fat removal, pectoral augmentation and male liposuction.
